Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia
Celebrating 77 years of Service

On May 15, 2005 the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia celebrated the 77th. anniversary of the founding of the service
by the late Very Reverend John Flynn. John Flynn combines his passion for the outback with his interest in medicine, and the new
emerging technologies of aviation, and radio communication.
Today rural travellers, tourists, miners, and farmers no longer fear the tyrany of distance.
A simple radio call is all that is needed to activate this marvel of modern health care.

The service also holds regular health clinics when the Flying Doctor flies in to various isolated towns or farming properties where
anyone is welcome to come and receive the latest in health care.

One of the major bases of the Royal Flying Doctor Service is located at Charleville.

The main hangar and aircraft are situated at the Charleville Airport.
